ABOUT MANDYMandy Cheng is a master of the Nerikomi technique: the decorative patterns are made by lamination technique. Mandy begins with the final pattern in mind, working backwards,she decides how many sheets of different thickness of white, grey and black stained porcelain are required to be cut and layered, in a special sequence to form blocks. These blocks are cut again into slices, along the side, at an angle, or at different thicknesses, and re-layered, to arrive at the desired block of pattern.
