Learn new skills in throwing!
For any ability aged 16+
Wednesday, Thursday, Friday, 18th - 20th February 2026.
10.30am - 3.00pm.
£195 per person to include everything. Up to 4 places available in each session.
Suitable for complete beginners and more experienced potters. Whether you have never been on the wheel before, or have some experience but would like a little more focused tuition, this course is perfect for you!
This is course takes place over 3 days, with half an hour break for lunch.
Day 1
The course begins with an in-depth focus on preparing the clay, centring on the wheel and feeling confident throwing a basic cylinder.
Day 2
You will continue to work on your throwing technique with focused tuition. After-which, we move on to throwing more advanced forms such as bowls and vases.
Day 3
Finally on day 3 you will turn and trim your pots, learn to add traditional pulled handles among other techniques, and add surface / slip decoration.
You will be able to choose 4 pots each to be fired and glazed, any extras that you'd like to keep will be at a further cost. We will break at 12pm each day, please bring a packed lunch. Please wear closed toe shoes, tie back any long hair, and have fingernails cut short.
Studio Eleven provides aprons, towels etc, but please ensure you wear clothes you don’t mind getting a little messy.
Please ensure your safety within the ceramic studio environment and follow our health and safety guidelines.
These sessions are aimed at adults, younger people 13+ may attend the workshop however are to be accompanied by a parent or legal guardian.
About the Artist
Jessica Morris is a ceramic artist creating wheel thrown porcelain pieces enriched with vibrant underglazes. Her work explores movement and flow, capturing a sense of rhythm and spontaneity in both functional and sculptural forms. Alongside her studio practice, Jessica shares her love for ceramics through teaching and encouraging others to explore the materials' endless possibilities.
