Maree's pots are hand built decorated with patterns of repeated simple geometric shapes that segment and define the form. They are made from flat sheets of slip printed clay cut and assembled into three-dimensional objects. The clay is porcelain, chosen for its whiteness, delicacy and strength - fired to a high temperature so it is non-porous and functional. For the artist they are objects in their own right, made for their intrinsic beauty rather than function.
