Ilona Sulikova's raku pots are built using the coiling techniques that she learned while working with Somali and Sudanese potters. She employs simple pattern sequences to interact with the 3D form in a dynamic but harmonious way. Through raku firing she achieves a fusion between the pattern and the finely balanced form.
